Skippers Program Misson
The mission of the “SKIPPERS” development program is to foster learning, teamwork and sportsmanship for eligible KYHA players interested in becoming a hockey coach for our grassroots programs and our spring/summer camps
Program Details
ELIGIBILITY
- Skippers must be ages 12 – 17
- Must be a current KYHA and USA Hockey member
ROLES
Apprentice positions:
- Grassroots Coaching Development Program
- Summer Camp Coaching Development Program
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be on time and show up for classes/events that you are registered for.
- Represent the brand with pride and professionalism
- Teach the Kraken Code and create a positive and fun culture on and off the ice.
- Show enthusiasm for KYHA programming and fellow members.
TEAMWORK OPPORTUNITIES
- Assist in fostering fun environment for sessions and camps
- Work with more experienced coaches in a different way on ice
- Learning the game as a coach and not a player
- Support younger skaters
